You’re not alone. Through couples therapy or individual therapy, we’ll uncover patterns, build tools for communication and intimacy, and create the foundation for relationships where you feel safe, seen, and connected, fostering a deeper emotional connection.
You want deeper connection but feel stuck in patterns that leave you feeling unheard, distant, or ashamed. Maybe communication keeps breaking down, intimacy feels out of reach, or differences in sex drive are creating tension.
You might be exploring consensual non-monogamy, navigating the process of coming out, or supporting a trans or 2SLGBTQ+ family member. At the heart of it all, you long for relationships—whether with a partner, family, or friends—where you feel safe, understood, and connected.
I became a therapist because I know how it feels to be caught in unhelpful cycles and long for deeper connection. My own journey through therapy helped me discover that we aren’t broken—we’re often just repeating what we’ve learned. That insight drives my work: helping clients build the foundations for more secure, fulfilling relationships.
I hold a Master of Social Work (Clinical Specialization, University of Calgary) and have been practicing therapy for over 3 years. I bring to my sessions over a decade of experience educating individuals, couples, and communities around healthy relationships, sexuality, gender, and sexual orientation.
Whether in couples counselling or individual therapy, in our sessions, you can expect a compassionate, collaborative space where your experiences are understood and respected. We’ll gently explore the patterns that keep you feeling stuck and practice new ways of connecting in a safe, affirming environment.
For couples therapy and individual counselling, I draw primarily on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based approaches, which help uncover the deeper needs behind conflict and disconnection. Together, we’ll work toward healthier communication, more satisfying intimacy, and the security of knowing your relationships can feel safe and supportive.
Your free 15 minute consultation will take place virtually or over the phone. Please ensure that all people who will be receiving counselling are present so we can get to know each other.
Couples or Partner Therapy sessions are $195 for 90-minutes.
The first couple of sessions are in person and afterwards online sessions may be booked.
Individual Counselling sessions are $150 for 60-minutes and can be online or in person.
I believe that everyone should have access to affordable counselling and I do my best to accommodate those requiring sliding scale services. For more information, please e-mail me at dori@lovingkindnessrelationshipcounselling.ca.

The work we engage in together at Loving Kindness Relationship Counselling, takes place on the traditional and ancestral lands of the Treaty 7 Nations, including the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations), the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations (Goodstoney, Chiniki, and Bearspaw). We also recognize that Calgary, known as Mohkinstis in Blackfoot, is home to the Métis of Districts 5 and 6.
Let us honour and respect the histories, languages, and cultures of these Nations, by recognizing our collective responsibility to restore our relationship with the land, each other, and with all beings. In supporting partners on their journeys toward understanding, healing, and connection, we are guided by these values of respect, kindness, and relational integrity.
